SCHOOL 2 SCHOOL (S2S)
What is School 2 School?
At Inner Wisdom, we try to get all ages involved in what is going on in different parts of the world. This can be a great learning experience for children and parents alike. Our School 2 School program creates a link between an international IWF education project and your local school. It allows students around the world to adopt a project and directly help children in different parts of the globe. This in turn creates a cross cultural learning environment for both schools.
When is School 2 School
You can choose any school week for your S2S week to participate!
How does S2S work?
Your school can choose a week to collect loose change and create an internal race among classes and grade level or it can challenge a rival school to raise money at the same time. The winning class/school receives a special PRIZE from Inner Wisdom.
How do I set an S2S goal?
Count the number of students and school staff (teachers, administrators, and support personnel) at the school and multiply that number by 5 - this is the goal for your school. For example: School A has 135 students and 20 staff members, 135 + 20 = 155 x 5 = 775. The goal for School A for S2S week is USD$775.00. To achieve this goal, each student and staff member tries to support the project by bringing in one dollar a day for a week.
How can we achieve our S2S GOAL?
Collect loose change.
This is fun and easy for all ages. Did you know that an average person has $30-40 dollars in loose change each month? Most people/families have a stash of loose change in a cup or jar just sitting around. Ask everyone you know to donate some of their change toward your goal. You will be surprised how fast it adds up. Just imagine if you collected all the loose change from everyone in your family and in your couch on a daily basisÂ…
Other ways to find loose change
- Look for loose change around the house,
- 20 bottles or cans returned is USD$1.00,
- Don't buy a soda or coffee for a week,
- Ask to help a neighbor for the extra money,
- Look in-between the cushions on the couch,
- Look in the car for change, or
- Ask your parents for any loose change.
How do I get my school involved?
- Contact Us! and we will help you set up a S2S week.
- Designate a teacher or school administrator as your adult S2S representative.
- Make motivational posters to hang around your school and decorate change jars.
- Determine a S2S week GOAL.
- Create a competition within your school or a rival school.
- Bring in loose change to school all week.
- Have your adult S2S Representative send a check to Inner Wisdom for the amount collected.
