ABOUT THE INNER WISDOM FOUNDATION

What is Inner Wisdom?

mentor

Inner wisdom is the strength found in humility, the wisdom it generates and the act of sharing that part of you with others to help influence change. Please join us and share your inner wisdom.

Our Vision

Our vision is to promote change and connect global volunteers with developing communities in need. We do this by partnering with local leaders, governments, and local community organizations to address the unique economic needs of the individuals and communities we provide resources for.

Our Beginning

The Inner Wisdom Foundation, Inc. (IWF) was established in 2008 by Coleen Krauss, Founder and President, after she realized that, without assistance, she could not provide the extent of service she was capable of to communities in need. Coleen and a small group of Vermonters started sharing their concerns about the lack of adequate healthcare, environmental awareness, and education in developing communities. Understanding that change needed to occur on a grassroots level they began to pull their ideas, talents, energy, and time together. In 2008 the Inner Wisdom Foundation was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

What we do

volunteers

Inner Wisdom (IWF), along with many volunteers, works with local community leaders around the world to influence social change. With the recommendations from local leaders familiar with the strengths and weaknesses within their own populace, IWF addresses the community’s immediate needs and works with the community to build sustainable programs. We aim to provide solutions that can be managed and maintained by the community once the project has been completed. Even after solar and wind power resources, healthcare clinics and facilities have been established, Inner Wisdom teaches communities to govern these assets independently, constituting energy independence, community lead health programs, education, and sustainable economic practices.

Introducing solar energy into local developing communities that lack reliable power sources provides an effective long-term solution that decreases poor economic and environmental conditions and insures energy independence that will sustain the new community facilities. Establishing access to clean water provides a lasting improvement to the overall health of each community and creates useful educational programs that provide a solid foundation upon which struggling population can build. Once firmly established, all programs, resources and facilities are turned over to then be operated by local leaders, teachers and community members.

Project Design and Implementation

Inner Wisdom develops specific projects that will benefit the immediate needs of the chosen communities. In addition, IWF offers local solutions to the larger issues including economic stimulation, sustainability of the programs, and healthier community living.
