August - June School 2 School

July 4, 2009- Walk-A-Thon

On July 4, 2009, we held a 2.5 mile Walk-a-Thon fundraiser in Montpelier, Vermont. 43 people – as individuals, as groups, and as families, participated in this first time event. The walkers started at Main Street Middle School in downtown Montpelier at 8 o’clock in the morning, and walked up North Street to the ending point, 2.5 miles up the road. At the end of the walk there were refreshments and water provided. Everyone who participated also received a certificate that stated their successful completion of the walk. Overall it was a great success for the first time, and we hope to make it an annual event. Thank you to all who came out – especially on a holiday!

August 1, 2009- Cash Raffle

On August 1, 2009 Inner Wisdom Foundation held a cash raffle and dinner at the Knights of Columbus in Barre, Vermont, following the Rummage Sale fundraiser. It went from 4pm to 6pm. There was a small turnout for the dinner, however overall the event was very successful. The individuals who came and participated truly enjoyed themselves and everyone received a catered dinner for purchasing a $100 ticket in support of our organization. Each ticket carried a chance at winning 15% of our ticket sales, or $1,500. We also had many more gift certificates than we expected, which were donated by generous local businesses and restaurants around Montpelier. The owner of a local restaurant, Inner Wisdom Foundation favorite The Black Door (eventually link this to his site), won the grand prize. Upon receiving the check, Phil, the owner, wrote a check back to the Foundation for half of the prize money. Thank you, Phil, for your generosity. And thank you to all of the businesses, families, and individuals who contributed to the event’s success.

August 1, 2009- 8:00am-3:00pm Community Wide Rummage Sale

At the Knights of Columbus in Barre, Vermont on August 1, 2009, Inner Wisdom Foundation held a rummage sale to benefit our organization. There were drop off times for people to donate items for the sale from 4pm to 6pm on Wednesday, July 29th, Thursday, July 30th, and Friday, July 31st. The actual sale was held on August 1st from 8am to 3pm followed by a cash raffle. The raffle prizes were awarded by a drawing to holders of tickets purchased prior to the rummage sale and raffle. There were many very generous donations to the rummage sale for people to browse through – one person donated a crib! Another donated a treadmill!
